Ryan T. Hyde is a lawyer, practicing since 2008. He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida in 2003, and his Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law in 2008. While at the University of Florida, Mr. Hyde was elected twice to serve as president of the Sigma Chi fraternity, was the Director of Special Events for the University’s 2001 homecoming celebration, and was inducted into the Florida Blue Key leadership honor society in recognition for his outstanding leadership and service to the University of Florida. Mr. Hyde was named to the Dean’s list multiple times in law school, received several book awards, had the top oral argument and appellate brief in legal writing and was a teaching assistant for legal writing for four semesters.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hyde worked in the external affairs office for former Governor Jeb Bush and the White House Advance Office for former President George W. Bush. Mr. Hyde also served as the Deputy Director of Special Events for the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City.
After graduating from law school, Mr. Hyde worked for a statewide creditor’s rights firm and served as an attorney liaison for a large national bank. He oversaw his firm’s Jacksonville office and handled real estate closings, condominium lien enforcement, mortgage foreclosures, post-foreclosure evictions, code enforcement and landlord tenant issues. He developed and implemented his firm’s policies and procedures for addressing the federal Protecting Tenants at Foreclosure Act when it was implemented in 2009.
Mr. Hyde joined the Firm as an associate in 2013. In 2016 and 2017, he was selected by SuperLawyers magazine as a Rising Star in the area of Creditor Debtor Rights. Florida Trend magazine selected Mr. Hyde as an Up & Comer in its 2017 Legal Elite edition in the area of bankruptcy and workouts. Mr. Hyde is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section Board of Governors and The Florida Coastal School of Law’s Alumni Board of Directors. He is admitted to practice before all Florida Courts and the United States District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. Mr. Hyde is a member of the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bankruptcy Bar Association and the Jacksonville Bar Association. He volunteers his time to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund and is on the planning committee for the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens’ annual ExZOOberation fundraiser. His practice areas include business, commercial, creditor/debtor, real property, and bankruptcy litigation.
