Robert A. Heekin, Jr. is a commercial lawyer, practicing since 2003. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2000, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, in 2003. While attending law school, Mr. Heekin served as Chairman of the ACCENT Speakers’ Bureau. He was also a member of Florida Blue Key. Mr. Heekin is a shareholder in the Firm.
Prior to his attending law school, Mr. Heekin enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his enlistment, he served as a Korean Linguist, and authored Heekin’s Integrated Research Tables for Sino-Korean. He was honorably discharged in 1998 as a Sergeant after four years of service.
After graduation from law school, Mr. Heekin joined the Jacksonville firm of Heekin, Malin and Wenzel, P.A., specializing in land use and real property litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Heekin was corporate counsel for a national development company. He also served as a member of Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum’s transition team.
Mr. Heekin joined the Firm as an associate in 2007 and was made a partner in 2011. Mr. Heekin is admitted to practice before all Florida Courts and the United States District Court for the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida. Mr. Heekin is a member of The Florida Bar and the Jacksonville Bar Association. Mr. Heekin is also an Eagle Scout, and remains active in local Scouting organizations. His practice areas include business and commercial litigation; bankruptcy litigation; real property litigation; land use and zoning; and homeowners’ and condominium association representation.
